West Ham face Huddersfield this Saturday with the Hammers currently in 15th place. Huddersfield are without a win in four and have struggled to maintain their early season form. Here are three things to look out for…

Should we be worried about the FA Cup performance?

The performance against Shrewsbury Town was dreadful. It was one of the worst performances that West Ham have put in all season and we have seen many bad games. Shrewsbury were comfortable during the game and it was clear that we were not going to win.

Yes, it was our second-team but the players did not impress and with our squad already thin, this is worrying. It was a chance for the players to gives David Moyes a difficult decision ahead of the weekend but it would not be a surprise to see many of them on the bench.

An attacking or defensive team?

Moyes has shown since he has arrived that we can set up to defend, and execute that well. We have seen this in the big games that we have played but therein lies the problem. We have failed to show that we can do more than defend when it comes to the games against the ‘smaller teams’.

The January transfer window will be key given that we have to add more creativity to the team which will improve our attacking performances. But it is unlikely that we will sign someone before this weekend’s game. Will we see a better attacking performance against Huddersfield?

Can Mark Noble keep up his form?

It is hard to pick out a standout best player for West Ham so far this season but Mark Noble would certainly be among those that deserve it. He has been our best midfielder this season and when he has been in the team, we have looked a far better side. Noble had periods where he struggled last season but his calming influence is crucial to our team and we need him to start every game.
