West Ham face Chelsea this Sunday in what is the start of a tough run of games. Here are three things to look out for…

A weakened Chelsea

When Chelsea won the Premier League last season, many did not predict that they would perform as they have this season. Even after what we saw with Jose Mourinho. But it has happened again. This Chelsea side are a shadow of what we saw last season and we have to capitalise on this.

They were embarrassed last weekend against Tottenham, having lost for the first time at home against Spurs in 28 years. Our last performance, on the other hand, was fantastic to watch and we have to replicate this. We can go into Sunday’s game with confidence and, let’s not forget, we did defeat them 1-0 earlier on in the season.

An unchanged XI?

Over the past few months, it has been hard to make a case for the same XI to start in consecutive games but there was little to fault against Southampton. David Moyes should not change a single player he is not forced to, and we need consistency in the side, especially at this point of the season.

Michail Antonio will be missing the rest of the season through injury and his replacement against Southampton, Edimilson Fernandes, played extremely well. But with Manuel Lanzini rumoured to come back into the team, it is difficult to see Fernandes being handed a start. Our win over Chelsea back in December was our first win under Moyes and it would not be a surprise to see another big result this Sunday.

Key battle – Arthur Masuaku vs Victor Moses

Masuaku was one of our best players against Southampton and we can’t forget his stunning performance when we last faced Chelsea. Both teams play with wing-backs and they will play a crucial role in this game. Moses loves to attack and given that we are likely to be on the back foot for most of the game, Masuaku cannot afford to switch off defensively.
