10 new 2024 NFL trade deadline reports to consider ahead of Tuesday
This post has been updated.
The 2024 NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, as teams will have until 4 p.m. ET to make a deal for any number of potential candidates.
We've seen some big trades go down already, like wide receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Kansas City Chiefs.
However, it's likely we'll see even more before Tuesday's deadline. The Athletic's Dianna Russini and ESPN's Adam Schefter shared the latest on what they're hearing on Saturday.
We've compiled the 10 bits of news that caught our interest from both of their reports.
The Steelers are still looking for a wide receiver
Both Russini and Schefter mentioned the position for Pittsburgh, with the latter specifically naming Panthers wideout Adam Thielen and Jets wideout Mike Williams as options in his report.
The Bengals might add to the defense at the deadline
The team could zero in on some defensive help at cornerback and on the defensive line, per Russini.
Azeez Ojulari could be the big Giants player traded
Both Russini and Schefter speculate that the Giants outside linebacker could be on the move, with teams like the Atlanta Falcons, Arizona Cardinals and Bengals listed as possible suitors among the reports. Schefter said Atlanta is specifically looking into a deal.
Russini reported that she expects the Falcons to make a move to help the pass rush, so be sure to watch for them with Ojulari.
The Chiefs might not be done
Despite adding wideout DeAndre Hopkins and outside linebacker Joshua Uche, Kansas City might not be done, according to Russini and Schefter. New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore was listed as a possible option depending on his health by Schefter, while Russini said another wide receiver could be in the works.
The Lions and Za'Darius Smith might be a match
Both Russini and Schefter say Detroit is looking for a pass-rusher, and both mentioned Smith as a player the team has an interest in ahead of Tuesday.
Calais Campbell could be on the move
Schefter said the Miami Dolphins' game against the Buffalo Bills could influence whether or not they are interested in trading Campbell, who both reporters said has been garnering interest.
The Commanders are looking for a cornerback
The Commanders are reportedly looking to bolster their secondary, per Russini.
The Jaguars could deal Brandon Scherff
Schefter and Russini both listed the Jaguars guard as a possible trade candidate.
Think more Jadeveon Clowney and Miles Sanders as trade candidates for the Panthers
While quarterback Bryce Young has been discussed as a trade candidate, Russini said the Carolina Panthers aren't considering it right now. She mentioned Clowney and Sanders as players the team is open to trading.
The 49ers are looking at defensive help
Russini said the reigning NFC champions are calling around about defense, with New England Patriots defensive tackle Davon Godchaux a player to watch.
