Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin named Premiership manager of the month for October

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin has been named the Scottish Premiership Glen's Manager of the Month for the second time this season.

The Dons boss maintained his side's unbeaten run throughout October, beating Hearts, Dundee United and Rangers with impressive Pittodrie performances while coming back to draw 2-2 with Celtic at Parkhead.

Thelin's men gained 10 points during the month and currently sit level with Celtic on points at the top of the Premiership table, trailing the title holders on goal difference.

Aberdeen head into battle with Dundee on Saturday evening looking to make it 10 wins from 11 league outings this season before the players head into the international break.

Speaking to the club website, Thelin said: "I am very happy to accept this award on behalf of everyone associated with Aberdeen FC.

"We have enjoyed some excellent performances and results in the past month, particularly at Pittodrie where we have had brilliant support from our fans who have created the best possible atmosphere to help the team.

"The players deserve enormous credit but there is a real energy throughout the club, and in fact the city, at the moment. Everyone is connected and working together to get better every day and there is a real belief in the journey we are on.

"We look forward to returning to Pittodrie on Saturday night in front of another full house and we hope we can continue to build on our good league form at such an important part of the season."
