Aberdeen take on Celtic for the third time in the domestic calendar this season, as the Hoops travel up to the Granite City for the first time in the Scottish Premiership in the current campaign - and it's a huge clash that could see the doors blown wide open again in the title race.

Celtic led Aberdeen 2-0 in their first meeting of the season but ultimately drew 2-2, in what remains their only points dropped all season - but they got their revenge just a matter of weeks later, when they trounced the Dons 6-0 at Hampden Park in the League Cup semi-final to set up a huge tie against local rivals Rangers.

The Dons haven't been in the best form recently, but they will know that a win would see them go just one point behind the Hoops as we head into the festive schedule - though they'll have to be on top form. Football Scotland takes a look at kick-off times, TV listings and team news ahead of the seismic showdown.

When is Aberdeen vs Celtic?

Aberdeen will host Celtic at Pittodrie on Wednesday 4 December. Kick-off is at 8pm.

Is Aberdeen vs Celtic on TV and can I live stream it?

The game is most definitely being shown on TV, with Aberdeen vs Celtic being the chosen televised game on Sky Sports. Coverage starts at 7:15pm, with the clash being shown on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event.

Alternatively, you can stream the game live on NOW TV. A day's subscription begins at £14.99, whilst a month costs £26 for new customers.

As a result, the clubs' respective channels will not be broadcasting the game live on a pay-per-view basis, meaning that fans won't be able to watch their stars unless they are watching on Sky.

Otherwise, you will be able to watch the highlights, which will be posted on YouTube via club accounts and Sky Sports Football after the game. BBC Sportscene will have also highlights and analysis on the BBC Scotland channel from 10:40pm.

Ref and VAR

Don Robertson is the man in the middle for this one, with Frank Connor and David Roome being his assistants on what could be a feisty night on the east coast.

Meanwhile, Andrew Dallas will be the main Video Assistant Referee, and he will be assisted by Graeme Stewart in the TV room.

Team news

There’s been a huge blow for Aberdeen, with Dimitar Mitov being sidelined for up to six weeks after suffering a hamstring injury - and that means that Ross Doohan will play between the sticks.

Elsewhere, Jack MacKenzie is close but won’t make the game and Pape Habib Gueye continues his spell in the treatment room, but Tom Ritchie has been recalled from his loan spell at Bonnyrigg Rose.

Meanwhile, Thelin's side could find it difficult to break Celtic down with every single player being available for the Hoops, barring Scott Bain, who misses out with illness.
