Adam Sidlow's plan to play in 2025 appears set to come to fruition with Swinton Lions. Rugby League Live understands that Sidlow, who is a free agent after leaving Salford Red Devils, is being chased by the League 1 club as they look to assemble a squad that can get them back into the Championship.

Sidlow spent some time in the third tier this year, enjoying a successful loan spell at Oldham as he helped them secure promotion courtesy of the League 1 title. The prop has been a serial winner in the lower leagues, earning promotion with teams on five different occasions.

His career has seen him play for Salford, Bradford Bulls, Leigh and Toronto Wolfpack among others and he has made 150 Super League appearances in the process.

Sidlow is 37 now but speaking to Rugby League Live in September, he expressed his desire to carry on playing while also beginning his journey into the world of coaching.

"I know some feel uncomfortable going into coaching it but I don't get that feeling," he said. "I'd love to be a forwards coach, an assistant, but keep playing, I still feel like I've got a lot to give to the game."

He now appears set to continue his career with the Lions, who are set to be coached by Paul Wood next year after he was appointed following the departure of former coach Alan Kilshaw.

The pair played against each other several times during their respective playing careers, with Wood featuring for Warrington Wolves while Sidlow was at Warrington. Over a decade on from their last encounter, it appears the pair are now set to come together for a common cause next year.
