Alan Shearer's big Newcastle United celebration captured against Arsenal as Ian Wright left fuming
Footage of Alan Shearer going barmy in celebration at Alexander Isak’s winner for Newcastle United against Arsenal while on punditry duty has been released.
The ever-passionate Geordie hero was partnering Arsenal icon Ian Wright while doing analysis of the match for Premier League Productions. The United legend was as delighted as those in the Gallowgate End at St James’ Park when Isak nodded home.
Production staff had set up cameras to catch each pundit’s reaction to in-game incidents while they watched on from the green room. As assist provider Anthony Gordon got himself into a promising position on the flank, Shearer shouted “whip” in relation to the type of cross he envisaged.

Gordon duly delivered, and Isak’s conversion prompted Shearer to erupt at the expense of Wright, who looked crestfallen at seeing the Gunners go behind. After cheering ecstatically, Shearer said: “What a goal that is! What a cross, what a cross - that was a cross from the 90s!”
United recorded their fourth league win of the season thanks to Isak’s third goal in four home league appearances. Eddie Howe was delighted with how his team played throughout the afternoon.
"It was 95 minutes of concentration and consistency in our attitude,” he told BBC Sport. “We managed and controlled some very good players pretty well today.
"It's three points, but it means so much because we hadn't won for a while in the Premier League. I'm sure it will do us the world of good."
Howe added: “Today's performance was built on hard work, desire and a lot of really good defending in the second half. I thought we looked good."
