Incoming Manchester United boss Rúben Amorim has hinted at his tactics ahead of the upcoming clash against Ipswich Town.

The Portuguese was appointed as manager earlier this month following the departure of Erik ten Hag, although it was revealed that he would stay at Sporting CP until the November international break.

That time has now arrived, and as a result, supporters have began to speculate whether he may adopt a 3-4-3 formation in his maiden match away at Portman Road on Sunday, November 24th.

Amorim has avoided a conventional back four during his time with the reigning Liga Portugal champions, instead using three centre-backs, wing-backs, two central midfielders and a front three.

He's suggested that he may look to implement this from the off when he arrives in England, although he refused to confirm anything in his press conference after the comeback win against Braga in his final match in charge of the Lions.

“I know how I am going to play in the beginning, because you have to start with a structure that you know," he told The Athletic.

“Then you will adapt with the players that you have, some injuries, or no injuries, what kind of players have the abilities to defend, attack, I will discover that in the next few weeks.

“We don’t have a lot of time to train, so I have to show something that I know very well. You can take whatever you want from that.”

The Daily Mail have since reported that Amorim won't be able to start working as Man United manager today. This is because he's yet to receive his visa.

Sources have suggested that this was expected and will soon be sorted, with the 39-year-old flying to Manchester today to arrange his work permit. However, he may not take a full training session until the second week of the international break, with a number of key players away representing their countries.

In Amorim's absense, Ruud van Nistelrooy has continued to take charge of the senior team. It remains to be seen whether he'll stay on at Old Trafford, with a decision expected to be announced soon.
