Ange Postecoglou has revealed Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke is feeling "much better" after he missed Spurs' last match against Fulham with illness.

The 27-year-old was not part of the matchday squad at the weekend with Postecoglou explaining on Sunday that the striker was "under the weather". The England international could return against his old side Bournemouth on Thursday night, however, with Postecoglou providing an update on the striker.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday morning, the Australian said: "Everyone from the weekend got through ok. Archie [Gray] got a knock but he's recovered well. Dom is due to train today. He's still not 100% but he's much better. The other guys haven't trained yet [with the group].

"[Romero is] due to have his last couple of sessions with the rehab guys today or tomorrow. We're hoping that he's back in training by Friday and at the latest early next week."

Postecoglou will hope his star striker manages to get through Wednesday's training session unscathed as he will want him from the off against Bournemouth on Thursday. Spurs captain Son Heung-min played in the striker role against Fulham, with Brennan Johnson and Timo Werner either side of the South Korean, but the Lilywhites struggled to create many chances in the 1-1 draw.

Solanke has six goals and three assists in 17 appearances for Tottenham this season and has been Spurs' only fit senior striker for most of the campaign with Richarlison currently out injured.
