Ange Postecoglou slammed by £25m Tottenham outcast's agent as transfer exit threat made

The agent of Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin has taken aim at Ange Postecoglou over his client's lack of game time.

The former Celtic manager brought the centre-back in for a whopping £25million from Genoa in January but the 22-year-old has struggled to break into the starting line-up with regularity. The Romanian has two starts for Spurs, in a defeat to Fulham and a victory over Luton.

Now his agent, Florin Manea, has bemoaned Postecoglou's reluctance to play his man and to switch to a back three despite a leaky backline. They also have a weakness from defensive set-pieces and Manea feels Dragusin could help out in that regard.

He said: “The coach said many times he does not want to play with a three-man defence, evidently he knows best, but Tottenham concede a ton of goals.

"I also think Tottenham concede a lot of goals from set plays, so Dragusin would be very helpful due to his power in the air. He used to get all the headers at Genoa.”

Manea will consider taking his client away from Spurs if he doesn't start getting game time. He turned down Bayern and Napoli for the Tottenham move and a return to Italy could be on the cards.

He added: "If he doesn’t play, then we have to think about other solutions, but he only arrived in January, so that seems unlikely right now.

“If Bayern and Tottenham hadn’t been there, he would’ve chosen Napoli. If they were to offer a loan, especially if Antonio Conte was the coach, then we could evaluate that.

"I can say that if Postecoglu told Dragusin that he is only considered an alternative to the other centre-backs, then he would not stay just to sit on the bench.”
