The final international break of 2024 will see 16 senior Liverpool players travel to represent their country around the world in a number of crucial games.

After two breaks in the two previous months, the last international period of the year is upon us with the Reds in a dream position at the top of the Premier League. The November break is seen as the end of the start to the season, and so far, it’s as close to perfection as possible for Arne Slot and his players.

The Reds boss will be holding his breath in the hope that those players heading off on international duty will return injury-free. But one player who won’t be traveling is Trent Alexander-Arnold after the right-back was forced off against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Alexander-Arnold was called up by Lee Carsley in his final England squad before Thomas Tuchel takes charge next year but suffered a low-grade hamstring injury and will remain with the club to recover in a race to return for the upcoming fixtures against Real Madrid and Manchester City. Curtis Jones will therefore be Liverpool’s sole representative in the Three Lions squad.

Elsewhere, Andy Robertson will return to action for Scotland along with teenage winger Ben Doak, who is on-loan at Championship club Middlesbrough. Conor Bradley is the other Reds ace to be in action for one of the home nations, with him set to continue his integral role for Northern Ireland.

The Dutch trio of Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo will all travel together. While Caoimhin Kelleher, Dominik Szoboszlai, Ibrahima Konate, and on-loan goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili will also be in action on the continent.

Meanwhile, Darwin Nunez returned to Uruguay action last month after successfully winning his appeal against a five-game ban. However, Uruguay have failed to score in their previous four games. Luis Diaz and Alexis Mac Allister are also involved in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers. While Wataru Endo will play for Japan in the Asian World Cup qualifiers.

Jarell Quansah will join up with the England U21 side alongside Tyler Morton, despite being named in the 33-man provisional senior squad ahead of Euro 2024, Quansah is yet to win his first cap at senior level. Trey Nyoni will feature for the U18s.

Egypt have not called up Mohamed Salah, who alongside the injured Joe Gomez, Alexander-Arnold, Alisson, Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota will remain in Merseyside.
