Arne Slot shares title race 'confidence' after Liverpool capitalizes on Arsenal and Man City defeats
Arne Slot said Liverpool's ability to come from behind and win against Brighton gave him "a lot of confidence" as the Reds returned to the top of the Premier League.
Two quick-fire goals in the second-half from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah completed a remarkable turnaround for the hosts after trailing the Seagulls and being second best for the majority of the game.
However, Liverpool never gave up hope of getting something from the game and eventually got its reward 20 minutes from time, with victory tasting even sweeter due to Manchester City's shock 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth on the south coast.

It means the Reds move back to the top of the table and two points clear of the reigning champions, while Arsenal's defeat to Newcastle earlier in the day also sees them extend the points gap between themselves and the Gunners to seven.
Understandably so, Liverpool is being tipped to lift the title with each passing week as it continues to rack up the wins, and even Slot has now subtly hinted that his side could well be crowned champions at the end of the campaign if they continue in the same manner.
The Dutchman also highlighted his team's ability to come from behind and win against a high-level opposition like Brighton shows the level the Reds are currently at.
Speaking after the game about going top of the Premier League, Slot said: "It's more if you play against Arsenal in their stadium and you can get a draw away from home. Brighton are a very strong team as well, they have shown this season.
"If you face a team like this and are 1-0 down and can come back to a 2-1 win, which in my opinion was deserved, that gives me a lot of confidence. More than the position we are in."
Liverpool's current run of fixtures has allowed it to show where it is really at so far this season. Prior to the international break, the Reds topped the Premier League following six wins from seven, but were yet to be tested against decent opposition.
On its return to domestic action following last month's internationals, Slot's side have beaten Chelsea, come from behind twice to draw with Arsenal, and now overcome a one-goal deficit to emerge 2-1 victors over Brighton.
Next week brings another tough test in the form of Aston Villa and, if the Reds can come away from that fixture with another positive result, it only suggests that it is well and truly in the conversation for title favorites, regardless if it is yet to face Man City yet.
