Arne Slot tipped to complete £20m transfer raid of old rivals after Liverpool scouting mission
Liverpool are rumoured to be the latest of Europe's top teams keeping tabs on in-form PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi, and are now in fact said to be leading the race. This comes after Reds scouts reported back positively from the Netherlands.
Arne Slot has made so secret of the fact just how impressed he has been with the group of players he inherited from Jurgen Klopp over the summer. They were so impressive he actually opted to make only one addition to the team with Federico Chiesa, while he retained all key players from the previous coach's era.
Liverpool's season has started well as a result, though the new man in charge knows at some point he is going to have to make his own imprint on the squad he commands.

With Mohamed Salah's future beyond the 2024/25 season's end still debated and Diogo Jota suffering another injury that has kept him sidelined for almost a month now, CaughtOffside are linking a striker to the Reds.
The striker in question, Pepi, would require Slot to revisit his homeland for the first time since departing Feyenoord for Liverpool - more specifically his old rivals PSV. The head coach's former side would often contest PSV for the honour of becoming Dutch champions in the years that preceded his Premier League switch.
Though now with the help of Reds scouts this season, he is claimed to hold an admiration for 21-year-old Pepi, who has started the current campaign with six goals in 11 Eredivisie appearances. Alongside Liverpool this is said to have caught the attention of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid.
As a fully-fledged US Men's National Team member, he already has 31 caps to his name with 11 goals scored. With all of the facts considered, he is said to command a fee of €25m (£20.8m).
Liverpool could end up getting a crucial much closer look at Pepi too, as Slot takes his men to the Philips Stadion to face PSV in their final Champions League league phase match on January 29, 2025.
