Arsenal and Chelsea transfer blow as PSG replacement 'named' after Kylian Mbappe announcement

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly eyeing up Arsenal and Chelsea-linked Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as a replacement for outgoing star Kylian Mbappe.

In an announcement made on Instagram, Mbappe, 25, has confirmed he will be leaving the Parc des Princes at the end of the season, after seven years. He said: "Hi everyone, it's Kylian. I wanted to speak to you.

"I always said that I would speak to you when the time comes and so I wanted to announce to you all that it's my last year at Paris Saint-Germain. I will not extend and the adventure will come to an end in a few weeks.

"I will play my last game at the Parc des Princes on Saturday. It's a lot of emotions."

PSG boss Luis Enrique is claimed to see Napoli star Kvaratskhelia as the 'perfect candidate' to fill the hole left by Mbappe, according to RMC Sport. They add that PSG chiefs met up with Kvaratskhelia's representatives in Italy and initial negotiations were described as 'positive'.

This move represents a possible blow to Arsenal and Chelsea, along with Manchester United, who have all been credited with an interest in the Georgian winger. United were claimed to have previously sent scouts out to watch the winger during the November international break.

Joining Napoli in 2022 from Dinamo Batumi, Kvaratskhelia helped the Italian side to their first Serie A title in 33 years. He has scored 24 goals and provided 26 assists in his 85 appearances across all competitions since joining the Italian outfit.

Despite rumoured interest from Barcelona, Kvaratskhelia's father Badri recently suggested his son wants to stay at Napoli, where he is under contract until 2027, but that may no longer be the case. He said at the time: "I am so happy with Napoli's title and that my son Khvicha contributed to winning it."

"I am grateful to Italy and Napoli for having welcomed and appreciated him as a person and as a footballer. He's the only one who can choose whether to stay at Napoli, but I think he will continue wearing the Napoli shirt. In any case, I will respect his decision."
