Arsenal handed major Viktor Gyokeres boost with huge transfer discount revealed
Arsenal target Viktor Gyokeres can reportedly leave Sporting CP next summer for a fee in the region of £50million-£58.3m. The 26-year-old, who been in fine fettle for the Portuguese side this season, scored a sublime hat-trick during their 4-1 win over Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Gyokeres' first came just before half-time as he span in behind the City defence before holding off his marker and slotting the ball into the bottom corner. He added his second and third from the penalty spot, showing extreme composure and calmness in front of goal to score three times against Pep Guardiola's City.
A type of performance like that would normally increase Gyokeres' price even above his £83.2m release clause if multiple teams are willing to activate it. However, Sky Sports Germany has now reported that there is an agreement that the Sweden international can leave Sporting for even less than that at the end of the season.
It's claimed that between £50m-£58.3m is the figure that Gyokeres, who has 23 goals in 17 appearances this season, can depart Sporting for next summer. A move away from the Primeira Liga champions in January is not planned, but a transfer at the end of the campaign is becoming 'very likely', the report adds.
In England, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool are 'specifically interested' in the former Brighton forward and are aware of the transfer agreement that is in place. Ruben Amorim could also take him to Manchester United upon his arrival at Old Trafford later this month.
And Amorim has hinted that Gyokeres could be set to leave Sporting next summer. Speaking after the win over City, he told TNT Sports: "No, no, no. I cannot be funny with that in this moment. It was tough for me to leave.

"If I start joking about that with Gyokeres, I'll have problems. This is my city, this is my country, so I will respect. Viktor has to stay until the end of the season and then his life is going some... maybe, somewhere else."
Gyokeres joined Sporting last summer from Coventry for £16.7m plus add-ons. He scored 43 goals in 50 matches across his first season in Portugal and has continued that fine form into this campaign.
