Arsenal next five fixtures compared to Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea after Monaco win

Arsenal bounced back from dropping points against Fulham with a strong 3-0 victory over Monaco in the Champions League. Gabriel Jesus was guilty of missing two chances early on but provided an excellent cross for Bukayo Saka to open the scoring with Myles Lewis-Skelly, making his first European start, superb in the build up.

Martin Odegaard also sent a 1vs1 wide of the target with Monaco's defensive frailties on full show in the opening 45 minutes. The Gunners had more chances at goal in the second period but failed to increase their advantage until Saka doubled his total for the evening in the 78th minute.

Off the bench, Kai Havertz added a third late on as he turned home Saka's cross with a deflection off Thilo Kehrer sending the ball into the roof of the net. Focus for Arsenal is now firmly on domestic competitions with four Premier League games and a Carabao Cup clash arriving in the next three weeks.

Verdict

Arsenal will be favourites to win all five of their next games with the fixtures coming thick and fast between now and the start of 2025. Up next for the Gunners is a clash at Emirates Stadium against Everton with Arteta likely hoping Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Magalhaes can return from injury.

Following that, two games against Crystal Palace are on the schedule with the first of those a Carabao Cup quarter-final. Three days after that, Arteta and his players make the short trip to Selhurst Park with Liverpool and Man City having already faced the Eagles away from home with varying results.

In their first clash after Christmas, Arsenal are back on home soil with newly-promoted Ipswich Town as the visitors. The Gunners then kick off the new year with an away Premier League game against Brentford, arguably their hardest upcoming match, given the Bees' stunning home form.
