Arsenal player ratings vs Bournemouth: Leandro Trossard and David Raya sloppy in disappointing defeat
Arsenal slumped to their first defeat of the season after they were beaten by Bournemouth.
Ryan Christie and Justin Kluivert got the goals for the hosts, who struck twice in the final 20 minutes to win 2-0.
Arsenal had to play the final hour of the match with 10 men after William Saliba was sent off on the half-hour mark for bringing down Evanilson.
Defeat leaves Arsenal third in the Premier League and a point behind leaders Liverpool.
Simon Collings was at the Vitality Stadium to see Arsenal in action...
David Raya 5
Had a few uncharacteristic loose passes out from the back. Gave away a penalty after Jakub Kiwior put him in trouble with a loose back-pass.
Ben White 5
Back from injury and played for the first time since Arsenal drew at Manchester City on September 22. Had a tough second-half against Dango Ouattara.
William Saliba 4
Sent off after 30 minutes for bringing down Evanilson. Put in a difficult position after Leandro Trossard’s loose pass. Referee originally gave him a yellow card, but VAR upgraded to a red.
Gabriel 5
Captained the side for the first time from the off. Not the way he would pictured the game going and lacked his usual threat from set-pieces, too.
Riccardo Calafiori 5
Earned another start at left-back after an impressive few games. Not the marauding presence he usually is, but defensively solid.
Mikel Merino 6
Made his first start since joining in the summer. Got better as the game went on and put in big shift without the ball when Arsenal were down to 10 men.
Thomas Partey 7
One of Arsenal’s better players on a disappointing evening. Broke up play well and made some nice passes, too.
Declan Rice 7
Got through a lot of running as Arsenal tried to keep Bournemouth at bay with 10 men. Another player who can hold his head high.
Raheem Sterling 6
Hooked shortly before half-time after Arsenal went down to 10 men, which was a shame as he had looked bright at times.
Kai Havertz 6
Cut an isolated figure upfront when Arsenal went down to 10 men. Got through a lot of dirty work and tried to give them an out-ball.
Leandro Trossard 5
Put Saliba in a world of trouble with a really loose pass, that forced the defender to bring down Evanilson. Uncharacteristically sloppy from him.
