Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has praised Chelsea 's Moises Caicedo for his 'unbelievable' form in the Premier League this season.

It's been a strong start to the campaign for Enzo Maresca 's side as they gear up for a huge clash against the Gunners on Sunday afternoon. Chelsea won five of their opening 10 matches, drew three and lost just two.

Although they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the round of 16 stage following a 2-0 loss to Newcastle United, Chelsea are top of the league phase in the UEFA Europa Conference League with three wins from three games.

One of Chelsea's standout performers this season has been Caicedo, who joined the club for a record-breaking £115m back in the summer of 2023. After a slow start to life at Stamford Bridge, the Ecuador international has stepped up this term and is forming a strong midfield partnership with Romeo Lavia.

Rice, who joined Arsenal in 2023 for a little over £100m, noted the pressure that comes with moving for a such a significant fee, but insists Caicedo has handled the weight of expectation extremely well.

"With Moises, I've been playing against him since he was at Brighton," he said in an interview with Sky Sports. "I was West Ham captain for two seasons and he was just coming through [into] the Brighton team.

"We had some really tough battles and I always knew and could see what a good player he is. People said last year he wasn't at his best and it took him time to settle [at Chelsea], but at the back end of the season his form was so strong.

"This season, as well, he has been unbelievable. He is showing now what he was doing at Brighton, and I think, for sure, he is another player who has handled the price tag really well. To play for a club like Chelsea is a lot of pressure, so fair play to him as well."

Caicedo has made 12 appearances across all competitions this season. In that time, he has scored one goal and registered two assists.
