Arsenal vs PSG LIVE! Champions League result, match stream and latest updates today

Arsenal vs PSG - LIVE!

Arsenal picked up their first Champions League win of the season as they beat PSG 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners began their European campaign with a goalless draw away to Atalanta and backed it up in north London thanks to goals fromKai HavertzandBukayo Saka, with Mikel Arteta’s side already firmly on course for the knockout stages.

Havertz headed home inside 20 minutes as he scored for the sixth consecutive home match, before Saka’s free-kick from out wide evaded everyone in the box and beat Gianluigi Donnarumma to double the lead.

It was not a particularly thrilling second-half, with Arsenal content to sit back and let PSG have the ball, while limiting the visitors to very little in the way of clear-cut chances. The Gunners eased towards the finish line, while a debut for Mikel Merino further capped a successful night for the hosts. The focus in Europe for Arsenal now shifts to Shakhtar Donetsk’s visit to London later this month, before two potentially tricky away trips to Inter Milan and Sporting.

FT: Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:51 , Matt Verri

Job done for the Gunners.

Four points from their first two Champions League matches. So far, so good.

Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka put Arsenal in control and they never looked like giving up that position.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:49 , Matt Verri

90+2 mins: One final Arsenal change.

Saka off, Lewis-Skelly on. The teenager is going to play left wing for the last couple of minutes, with Martinelli on the opposite flank.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:47 , Matt Verri

90 mins: Four minutes added on.

More brilliant hold-up play from Havertz. Long ball forward, so strong and he wins the free-kick. He’s been superb yet again.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:45 , Matt Verri

88 mins: Jesus in the corner, only too happy to tick away the seconds.

Arsenal with very little interest in letting these final few minutes produce any drama.

Simon Collings at the Emirates

21:43 , Matt Verri

The one word to describe this Arsenal performance so far is professional.

They do not look like the Champions League rookies many called them last season.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:42 , Matt Verri

84 mins: Job still isn’t quite done for Arsenal.

Marquinhos with the header from a corner, looped just over the bar.

Rice was near enough wrestling the PSG defender at the same time, not particularly subtle. Got away with it.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:38 , Matt Verri

81 mins: Martinelli gets to the byline, can only flick the ball back into the middle... cleared behind for a corner.

Or not. Linesman says the ball was already out before Martinelli got there.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:35 , Matt Verri

78 mins: Big PSG appeals for a penalty, as the ball bounces up and hits Calafiori.

Would be very harsh... and the referee agrees. Never getting a penalty for that.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:33 , Matt Verri

77 mins: Bit of a shoving match between Ruiz and Calafiori.

All very pointless and they both get themselves booked for it.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:32 , Matt Verri

75 mins: Chance for Arsenal to kill this match off, but they can’t take it.

Saka picks out Martinelli in the box, ball slightly stuck under his feet as he digs out the shot and it’s saved.

PSG break, Barcola plays the ball across the face of goal... Saliba beats Kolo Muani to it.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:30 , Matt Verri

73 mins: A third Arsenal change of the night.

Trossard done, Jesus on for the final 20 minutes or so. Should mean Havertz drops into a slightly deeper role.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:29 , Matt Verri

72 mins: Arsenal not keeping the ball particularly well now, allowing PSG to build the pressure.

Still no particularly clear-cut chances for the visitors, but Arsenal don’t have the control they’ve had for much of the night.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:25 , Matt Verri

68 mins: PSG have a good spell, Arsenal need to be careful. One goal and this match will turn.

Raya forced into a strong save, as suddenly the hosts look dangerous. Arsenal sitting really deep.

Dan Kilpatrick at the Emirates

21:24 , Matt Verri

A great reception for Mikel Merino, who replaces Thomas Partey for his Arsenal debut.

This is turning into a very comfortable evening for Arteta and his players (assuming, of course, Jurrien Timber was not replaced through injury).

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:23 , Matt Verri

66 mins: PSG corner... and off the bar!

Drilled in at the near post, it was flicked on and the ball looped onto the woodwork. Barcola couldn’t get up enough to turn in the rebound.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:21 , Matt Verri

64 mins: An Arsenal debut for Merino!

He’s been made to wait after suffering a shoulder injury in training, but he finally gets his moment.

Merino replaces Partey.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:20 , Matt Verri

63 mins: Can’t be much fun trying to find a way through this Arsenal defence.

PSG go side to side for about two minutes, just no space. Marquinhos gets bored and goes for goal from 30 yards out. Never troublign anyone.

Simon Collings at the Emirates

21:19 , Matt Verri

Calafiori has so far down well at right-back, which I am not sure he has ever played.

Saka working hard going backwards to give him help.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:17 , Matt Verri

60 mins: Hakimi gets between Kiwior and Rice in the box, goes down and looks at the referee.

Not interested. Half-hearted appeal really, don’t think even Hakimi believed that.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:15 , Matt Verri

58 mins: Martinelli looking sharp tonight, that goal against Leicester was so important for him.

Dinks a cross to the back post, Havertz in space but he can’t get enough power on the header.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:14 , Matt Verri

57 mins: Chance for PSG after a really poor pass from Saka.

Mendes drives into the box, but his cut-back is a terrible one and Arsenal can clear the danger.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:12 , Matt Verri

55 mins: Bit of a concern as Trossard goes down holding his knee, but he’s fine to continue.

Martinelli skips to the byline, wins a corner for his side. Trouble for PSG...

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:09 , Matt Verri

51 mins: Nearly a STUNNING Arsenal goal.

Partey fizzes the ball into Saka, who plays it first-time to Trossard. He flicks it over the top to Havertz, lifted into the path of Martinelli and his powerful volley is kept out.

If that was in either corner, it was 3-0.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:07 , Matt Verri

50 mins: Arsenal are away on the break, as Saka bundles through the challenge from Mendes.

PSG desperately appealing for handball... after a few seconds of Arsenal continuing to attack, the referee agrees with them.

Saka less than impressed.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

21:05 , Matt Verri

48 mins: Havertz acting as a battering ram as he tries to get on the end of a long ball.

Bounces off Vitinha, then into Pacho. Referee eventually decides to blow the whistle.

Back underway!

21:02

Here we go again.

Change at the break from Arsenal. Kiwior is on for Timber, with Calafiori moving to right-back.

Saka with the second!

20:55 , Matt Verri

Gabriel wasn’t needed this time, as Arsenal scored from a set-piece yet again.

Saka’s ball in was attacked by Martinelli and Partey, as Donnarumma waited for a touch that did not come.

Simon Collings at the Emirates

20:50 , Matt Verri

An impressive half from Arsenal, who have been on it right from the off.

Great goal from Havertz to put them ahead and then a Saka free-kick doubled their lead.

PSG carrying a bit of threat on the counter, but Arsenal looked solid at the back.

HT: Arsenal 2-0 PSG

20:47 , Matt Verri

That’ll do it for the opening 45 minutes.

Goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka have put Arsenal in charge, PSG have offered very little beyond a Nuno Mendes strike from distance.

Arsenal were 2-0 up at half-time against Leicester on Saturday and still nearly made a mess of it, so can’t afford to be complacent here.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

20:45 , Matt Verri

45 mins: Just the one minute added on.

It’s all looking good for Arsenal at the moment.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

20:41 , Matt Verri

41 mins: Arteta screaming at the Arsenal players to get back as Hakimi threatens to break, and they listen.

So quick to get bodies behind the ball and sit back in that solid shape.

Arsenal 2-0 PSG

20:39 , Matt Verri

39 mins: PSG got thumped by Newcastle on their last visit to England, and they might already be fearing something similar here.

Arsenal haven’t particularly been at their best, but it’s been a clinical display.

Dan Kilpatrick at the Emirates

20:38 , Matt Verri

If Donnarumma was suspect for the opening goal, he was really poor there.

Saka's free-kick came through a crowd of bodies but the goalkeeper -- who is PSG's last remaining superstar -- should really have got behind it.

Finally the away end is silenced. Arsenal cruising after another set piece.

GOAL! Arsenal 2-0 PSG | Bukayo Saka 35'

20:36 , Matt Verri

LEAD DOUBLED!

And of course it’s from a set-piece.

Saka whips the ball in, Martinelli and Partey both try to get a touch but not sure either of them do.

Goes straight in from Saka.

Arsenal 1-0 PSG

20:34 , Matt Verri

34 mins: Mendes very, very tight to Saka. Too tight.

Ends up basically falling on top of him and it’s an Arsenal free-kick out wide, in a dangerous position.

Up come Gabriel and Saliba...

Arsenal 1-0 PSG

20:31 , Matt Verri

31 mins: Good spell this for PSG.

Hakimi too quick for Calafiori as he gets into the box, low ball drilled into the middle and Raya turns it behind for a corner.

The Gunners, as usual from set-pieces, deal with it well.

Simon Collings at the Emirates

20:30 , Matt Verri

A fifth goal of the season for Havertz already. Even without Martin Odegaard, he still looks such a threat up top.

Reborn from the player he was at Chelsea.

Arsenal 1-0 PSG

20:28 , Matt Verri

28 mins: PSG nearly level!

Saka slides in but Mendes bursts away, and then gets the shot away from the edge of the box.

Brilliant strike, it flicks off the outside of the post. Raya wasn’t getting there.

Arsenal 1-0 PSG

20:25 , Matt Verri

25 mins: Barcola is in behind down the left for PSG, he’s got a head-start on Timber.

But it’s so, so good from the Dutchman. Initially looks to have been sat down, but he still stretches out a leg and wins the ball back off Barcola.

Dan Kilpatrick at the Emirates

20:23 , Matt Verri

A brilliantly-timed run and brave header from Havertz but Trossard was the architect with a purposeful run and lovely whipped cross.

After an open start, Arsenal settled into a rhythm before the goal, leaving PSG struggling to keep hold of the ball.

A great start for Mikel Arteta's side.

Arsenal 1-0 PSG

20:22 , Matt Verri

22 mins: That goal is a massive one, you feel.

Arsenal so good (normally) when they have the lead, not an easy side to break down. Can be patient now and wait for their moments.

GOAL! Arsenal 1-0 PSG | Kai Havertz 20'

20:20 , Matt Verri

ARSENAL TAKE THE LEAD!

Just what the Gunners needed. Trossard swings the ball in, Havertz with the leap and he gets in front of Donnarumma to head home.

Arsenal 0-0 PSG

20:18 , Matt Verri

18 mins: Saka plays in Havertz on the overlap, he can stroll to the byline.

German rolls the ball across the face of goal... nobody there in a red shirt. Real chance for Arsenal.

Arsenal 0-0 PSG

20:17 , Matt Verri

16 mins: PSG fans haven’t stopped making noise. Since they arrived in London really, let alone the start of this match.

Not a huge amount of pace in the match at the moment, it’s a bit cagey.

Simon Collings at the Emirates

20:13 , Matt Verri

Luis Enrique dubbed Arsenal yesterday the best team in Europe without the ball and you can see why.

Their press is so organised - and it needs to be tonight.

Arsenal 0-0 PSG

20:13 , Matt Verri

12 mins: Doue tries his luck from 25 yards out, Raya always comfortable in watching that wide.

Offside flag then goes up - Doue was miles off. Not sure we needed to wait for that to play out.

Arsenal 0-0 PSG

20:10 , Matt Verri

10 mins: Sharp turn from Hakimi in the box, Calafiori has to lunge in to concede the corner. Just as well he timed that.

Neves flicks it on, cleared out to Mendes and he sends a volley well wide.

Arsenal 0-0 PSG

20:08 , Matt Verri

8 mins: Calafiori picks out Saka, who has space on his right.

It’s the trademark move, ball shifting onto his left foot and whipped towards the far corner.

Great effort, just wide.

Arsenal 0-0 PSG

20:06 , Matt Verri

6 mins: Saka loses the ball on the edge of his own area, trying to dribble it out of trouble.

Barcola shifts it onto his right foot, ball bobbles free and Trossard is back to win a free-kick for his side, Neves kicking through him.

Arsenal 0-0 PSG

20:04 , Matt Verri

3 mins: Sensational ball over the top from Raya, Martinelli has timed his run perfectly.

Donnarumma rushes off his line and just about gets to the ball first, as Martinelli tried to poke it past him.

Heavy collision between them them both - PSG goalkeeper needs some treatment.

Arsenal 0-0 PSG

20:02 , Matt Verri

2 mins: Saka skips into the box, he’s looked very bright in these opening couple of minutes.

Ball slipped through to Havertz, who is in a lot of space. Probably has something to do with the fact he’s a couple of yards offside.

KICK-OFF!

20:00 , Matt Verri

We’re up and running!

Here we go!

19:57 , Matt Verri

The teams are out in north London.

Bukayo Saka again wearing the captain’s armband for Arsenal, with Martin Odegaard and Jorginho not in the side.

Simon Collings at the Emirates

19:53 , Matt Verri

The away end has been bouncing throughout the warm-up.

A huge PSG contingent are here and, by the sounds of it, they will make a din all night.

Not long now

19:51 , Matt Verri

Ten-minute warning!

Rain is still hammering down at the Emirates, weather is horrendous.

Good night to be getting shots away and hoping for a mistake...

How it stands...

19:43 , Matt Verri

Brest have hammered RB Salzburg in one of the evening’s early kick-offs.

That takes them to six points after two matches, setting the early pace at the top of the league.

PSG can join them on maximum points if they win tonight, while the Gunners will be hoping for their first Champions League victory of the season.

Why is Arsenal vs PSG not on TNT Sports?

19:28 , Matt Verri

Arsenal are in Champions League action for the first time at home this season when they host Paris Saint-Germain tonight, but their match will not be broadcast live on TNT Sports.

Such are the sweeping changes made to Europe’s elite-level club competition this term, amendments have also been made as to how UK-based viewers can watch the action.

While TNT Sports have been the usual broadcaster for the Champions League since 2015,Amazon Prime Video will now have the rights to show every ‘top Tuesday match’.

It started with Liverpool’s win over AC Milan and continues tonight, with coverage from the Emirates Stadium.

The BBC are this season airing a dedicated highlights show from the Champions League for the very first time, which is shown at 10:40pm every Wednesday night during the tournament’s run.

Arsenal’s meeting with Shakhtar Donetsk will also be shown live on Amazon Prime Video, along with Liverpool vs Bayer Leverkusen and Manchester City vs Feyenoord. Selections for matchweeks 6 and 7 will come at a later date.

Arteta: Fans need to bring the noise

19:19 , Matt Verri

Mikel Arteta has been speaking ahead of kick-off.

He has urged the Arsenal fans to create a raucous atmosphere at the Emirates tonight.

Enrique explains Dembele decision

19:14 , Matt Verri

Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique says he has the club’s full support after he sensationally axed Ousmane Dembele for tonight’s clash.

Dembele has been left out of PSG’s travelling squad after reports in France claimed he was involved in an argument with Enrique after Friday’s 3-1 win over Rennes in Ligue 1.

Enrique would not go into detail on any issue when pressed about it on Monday night, insisting that he did not want to “create a soap opera”, but stressed there had not been a major fallout.

Dembele has enjoyed a brilliant start to the season, scoring four goals and chipping in with the same number of assists in six Ligue 1 games, but will play no part tonight.

“If someone doesn’t comply or respect the expectations of the team, it means they are not prepared to play,” said Enrique.

“The match tomorrow is very important and I want all my players to be ready, so as a consequence I have left him (Dembele) out. I want the best for my team and that is my job.

“I took the best decision for the team and that is why I signed here, to create a team that has a strong identity and has a lot of character.

“I was also hired to win titles. I cannot guarantee that. But I can guarantee the rest, which is playing with a strong identity. The day I cannot do this I will go home.

“I have the support of the club’s president and the sporting director. I am here to create a team and in the future that might include Ousmane Dembele, just to be clear.”

Subs: Safonov, Tenas, Fabian, Asensio, Muani, Mayulu, Beraldo, Skriniar, Zague, El Hannach, Mbaye

Miserable conditions...

18:55 , Matt Verri

Fair to say the sun is not shining in north London.

It’s been pouring down all day and that hasn’t changed as kick-off approaches.

Going to be a very, very slick surface.

Gunners unchanged

18:50 , Matt Verri

Mikel Arteta goes with the same side that beat Leicester on Saturday.

It means Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori continue as the full-backs, with Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz as something close to a front two.

Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling on the bench, as is Mikel Merino who could make his debut tonight.

All the team news from north London coming up in the next couple of minutes.

Not expecting too many Arsenal changes...

Arsenal on a high!

18:38 , Matt Verri

It was a dramatic weekend for Arsenal.

They were 2-0 up at half-time against Leicester and in complete control, but then conceded twice to leave themselves having to pile forward in search of a late winner.

Two goals in stoppage-time ensured it was a successful afternoon for the Gunners.

Arteta: We have to do better this season

18:24 , Matt Verri

Mikel Arteta has challenged his Arsenal side to prove they can fight for both the Champions League and Premier League this season.

The Gunners were in the hunt for both trophies last year, but crashed out of the Champions League in the quarter-finals and finished as runners-up to Manchester City in the Premier League.

Arsenal lost just two of their final 20 games across all competitions but came undone during a busy spell in April.

In the space of four days, they lost to Aston Villa, which left City two points clear with six games to go, and were defeated by Bayern Munich in Europe 3-2 on aggregate

They host PSG tonight and asked if his squad has the ability to balance competing on multiple fronts, Arteta said: “This is what we have to prove.

“Last year we almost went all the way. We came up short, so that is something we have to do better.

“We have to be involved in the cups much further too and that’s the next step we have to make as a team.

“We are going to find out, but we’re not thinking about (winning the Champions League) yet because we are still very, very far away and we have a difficult game on Tuesday night.”

Merino nears Arsenal debut

18:17 , Matt Verri

Mikel Merino has been spotted with the Arsenal squad ahead of tonight's clash against Paris Saint-Germain in a huge boost for Mikel Arteta.

Merino was signed late in the summer transfer window but has been unable to make his debut in the four weeks since after injuring a shoulder in his first training session.

A possible debut for Merino tonight would perhaps be a surprise, coming against French giants PSG, but Arteta has previously confirmed work will be done to make sure the player is ready to jump straight in when fit.

Speaking the day after Merino's injury, Arteta told reporters: "Let’s use the time that we have, right now, to make sure he is familiar with everything that we are doing, how we live and what we expect of him, about our team dynamics.

More on that here!

Stage is set!

18:07 , Matt Verri

A HUGE night of European football ahead.

This new format was designed to throw up more big matches in the early stage of the competition. Certainly have that tonight.

Standard Sport prediction

17:59 , Matt Verri

It’s undoubtedly one of the more difficult games Arsenal have been drawn but it’s difficult to see them losing at home, especially against an injury-hit PSG side.

The Gunners defence will have their hands full with the likes of Bradley Barcola, but a lack of out-and-out striker for PSG makes this a far easier task for the hosts.

Arsenal to win, 2-1.

PSG team news

17:53 , Matt Verri

PSG have left Ousmane Dembele out of their squad for disciplinary reasons, manager Luis Enrique said on the eve of the game.

"If someone doesn't comply with the requirements of the team, it means that they are not ready," he said on Monday.

"It means in such an important week, with such an important game coming up, we need every player to be fully available. My objective is to do the best for the team and that was my decision."

Lucas Hernandez, Presnel Kimpembe and Goncalo Ramos are injured, along with Gianluigi Donnarumma. Nuno Mendes will hope to return from illness.

Arsenal team news

17:43 , Matt Verri

Arsenal will again be without Ben White tonight.

White has missed the last two games due to a groin injury and did not take part in training on Monday afternoon. It means that Jurrien Timber will likely start at right-back again and Riccardo Calafiori should play on the other flank.

There had been speculation Calafiori could miss out after appearing to injure his hamstring in the final moments of Saturday’s win over Leicester- but he trained on Monday.

Mikel Arteta may name an unchanged side for the game with PSG, although Gabriel Jesus could come into the team as he started Arsenal’s last Champions League game against Atalanta.

Arsenal will be without captain Martin Odegaard for their match with PSG as he is still out with an ankle injury. Oleksandr Zinchenko is also out with a calf injury and Kieran Tierney is sidelined due to a hamstring issue.

Arsenal predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Havertz, Partey, Rice; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli
