Aston Villa academy star set to make injury comeback after £19m transfer
Former Aston Villa playmaker Omari Kellyman could finally be set to become available to Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca as early as next month, having been until now denied a debut for the Blues because of injury.
Having completed his £19m move to Stamford Bridge, which helped Villa's PSR cause - one of 13 additions, alongside Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Jadon Sancho, among others - Kellyman faced up to two months on the sidelines after suffering another hamstring setback shortly after the commencing of the new season.
Kellyman, who was recruited by Villa's academy from Derby County in March 2022 for £600,000 by way of compensation, was just beginning to surface in Unai Emery's first team last season; after joining the senior squad on their pre-season tour of the States, he made his senior debut at aged 17 in the Europa Conference League qualifying win over Hibernian. Chelsea came calling in the summer, though.

Now, Football London report that after a frustrating beginning to life in London in which he has been denied the chance to stake his claim in Maresca's squad, Kellyman is intensifying his comeback and could be on the verge of being available to new boss Maresca on the other side of the international break.
Derby born Kellyman, who signed a six-year deal at Chelsea, followed in the footsteps of Carney Chukwuemeka, who also was identified by the Villa academy as a kid and who was developed before being sold to the Blues in a deal worth up to £20m in the summer of 2022.
