Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins have disagreed on who the fastest player in the England squad is, with the former giving Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon the accolade.

Gordon has become a regular for the Three Lions since Gareth Southgate stepped down as manager. The winger bagged his first England goal during the November international break, scoring in the 5-0 win against the Republic of Ireland at Wembley Stadium.

Despite being named the fastest man in the England squad, so far this season Gordon has not been the quickest for his club side. Instead Harvey Barnes is top of the Magpies' chart with 34.7 km/h, tied with Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold, Aston Villa's Jaden Philogene, Leicester City's James Justin and Bournemouth's Julian Araujo.

In a game of 'Guess Who?' on ITV Sport's YouTube channel, the pair gave prompts with the other having to say the right answer. However, the fastest man in the squad clue caused a slight debate between Rogers and Watkins.

Watkins said: “He’s the fastest man on the planet. No, not on the planet. He’s the fastest man in the squad by a mile.”

To which Rogers responded: “Anthony Gordon?”

Watkins answered: “Nah.”

Rogers then stated: “He’s not quicker than Anthony, whoever you’re on about.”

Watkins then revealed that he was instead talking about Manchester City captain Kyle Walker. The full-back is also not the fastest player in Pep Guardiola's team as Erling Haaland sits top of the list.
