Aston Villa are said to be interested in one of the stars of AFC Bournemouth's impressive season so far as the £40 million-rated defender continues to star.

According to CaughtOffside, Milos Kerkez is open to a move away from the Cherries with Villa touted as one of the clubs that he has caught the eye of.

The young Hungarian has put in some stellar displays this season especially when going forward, most recently bagging a goal in his side's 4-2 victory over Villa rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers last Saturday, adding to his tally of two assists this campaign.

Kerkez arrived in Dorset in July 2023, signing a contract that lasts until 2028. This, coupled with his recent quality form, means that it will take a considerable price tag to prise him away from the Andoni Iraola's grasp.

The Villans have joined a long list of clubs interested in the 21-year-old which includes Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Borussia Dortmund. Other Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United are the current favourites though, with the Red Devils looking for a left wing back to suit new boss Ruben Amorim's style of play.

Liverpool are said to be deciding whether to pursue the Bournemouth defender or to prioritise Wolves left back Rayan Aït-Nouri as Arne Slot's Reds fly high at the top of the Premier League table.

With Lucas Digne enjoying a good campaign so far and summer signing Ian Maatsen waiting patiently in the wings, the transfer of Kerkez may not be high on Unai Emery's list of priorities.

With Digne now 31, though, and one of the higher-paid players at the club, the time may soon come for him to move on, allowing the Lions' interest in the Hungary international to materialise.
