Aston Villa future in question as player celebrates title with another club and boss admits 'connection'
Robin Olsen has sparked a fresh wave of speculation over his Aston Villa future after it was revealed he celebrated Malmo’s title win in their dressing room.
The goalkeeper has already been linked with a transfer to the Swedish champions and he added fuel to the fire by attending their final match of the season on Sunday, after being in Villa’s squad for their Premier League match against Liverpool on Saturday, and even entering their dressing room.
Malmo boss Henrik Rydström said: “I saw him yesterday (Saturday) on TV on the bench when Aston Villa played. Suddenly he was standing in our dressing room.”

And asked if Malmo will make a transfer move for Olsen in January, Rydström added: “No idea. It’s over my head. He has his connection here and we are in a situation where we are looking over all those pieces. You have to check with Dan (sporting director Daniel Andersson) about that.”
Sweden international Olsen began his career at Malmo before leaving for PAOK Salonika in 2015, later joining Roma and then Villa in 2022. Malmo are said to be looking to sign a new first choice goalkeeper when the January transfer window opens due to a long-term injury to current No.1 Johan Dahlin.
