Barcelona stretch LaLiga lead with derby win as Atalanta stun Serie A leaders Napoli
Dani Olmo was the star of the show as he netted twice, helping Barcelona to a 3-1 victory over city rivals Espanyol and extending their lead at the top of La Liga to nine points. Olmo's goals came either side of Raphinha’s sublime chip, giving Barca a comfortable 3-0 lead at half-time.
Despite having two goals disallowed for offside, Espanyol managed to pull one back in the 63rd minute thanks to Javi Puado, but it wasn't enough to prevent Barca from securing their fourth consecutive win.
In other La Liga action, Diego Simeone’s son Giuliano scored his first goal for Atletico Madrid, contributing to a 2-0 victory over Las Palmas. Simeone broke the deadlock eight minutes before half-time, with Alexander Sorloth sealing the win with his fourth goal of the season in the 83rd minute.

Real Sociedad enjoyed a comfortable 2-0 win over Sevilla, courtesy of a strike from Takefusa Kubo and a penalty from Mikel Oyarzabal. Meanwhile, former West Ham midfielder Pablo Fornals netted his first goal of the season to secure a 1-1 draw for Real Betis against Athletic Bilbao, cancelling out Alex Berenguer’s opener.
Over in Serie A, Ademola Lookman bagged a brace in Atalanta's impressive 3-0 triumph over league leaders Napoli, handing Antonio Conte’s side their first defeat since the opening day. Charles De Ketelaere provided two assists for Lookman, who capped off his performance with a stunning 20-yard strike. Mateo Retegui added a late goal in stoppage time to seal a fifth straight win for Atalanta.
Lautaro Martinez's 65th-minute header led Inter Milan to a narrow 1-0 victory over Venezia, closing the gap with leaders Napoli to just one point. The match saw late drama as Venezia substitute Marin Sverko's stoppage-time equaliser was disallowed due to a handball, leaving them in the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, Roma's difficult start to the season persisted with a 3-2 defeat at Verona. Matias Soule and Artem Dovbyk twice levelled the score after goals from Casper Tengstedt and Giangiacomo Magnani, but Abdou Harroui snatched the winner two minutes from time. Dailon Livramento was sent off in stoppage time.
In Ligue 1, Mason Greenwood scored the decisive goal in the 61st minute, securing a 2-1 win for Marseille against Nantes and moving them up to second place. Everton loanee Neal Maupay had put Marseille ahead in the 24th minute before Tino Kadewere equalised.
Greenwood's long-range strike found the bottom corner, lifting Marseille just behind league leaders PSG.
