Baseball: Brook Hill clobbers Cougars in playoff warm-up affair

Apr. 25—BULLARD — Brook Hill eased past Grace Community School, 10-0, Thursday evening at Herrington Field in a playoff warm-up contest.

The Guard (18-4) plated eight runs in the first inning and were never threatened, thanks to an outstanding job on the mound by Ben Braatz and Levi Visser.

Braatz worked three innings and gave up one hit and struck out two while Visser tossed the remaining-two segments. He allowed one hit, struck out one and walked one.

Offensively, Luke Visser went 2-2 and drove in a run while Cooper Schock clubbed a double and collected an RBI.

The Guard also benefited from eight walks by Cougar pitchers.

Grace Community slipped to 16-15 following the loss.
