'Battle of the Bridge' - Chelsea star Noni Maudeke sends clear Tottenham message

Noni Madueke

Noni Madueke has sent a message to Tottenham Hotspur after Chelsea's win on Thursday night.

The Blues recorded a 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League clash. Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson found the back of the net to see Chelsea secure all three points.

Mauricio Pochettino guided Chelsea to victory in what was only his second match against Spurs since his exit as manager in 2019. As a result, the Blues boosted their chances of securing European qualification with just four Premier League fixtures left to play this term.

Madueke played the full 90 minutes for Chelsea in the win over Tottenham. Hours after the victory, the England Under-21 international went on to send a message to Spurs on social media.

"Held it down all together," wrote Madueke on Instagram. "Battle of the bridge goes the Blues.. of course. Christ is King," Madueke added, accompanied by a blue heart emoji.

Newcastle star and England teammate Anthony Gordon commented on Madueke's post. The former Everton star wrote: "Proper performance," with his verdict of Madueke's match against Spurs.

Chelsea now have just four Premier League fixtures remaining to improve on their current eighth-place position in the league table. The Blues are two points behind seventh-placed Newcastle and will still have ambitions of leapfrogging Manchester United into sixth, who have a three-point advantage.

Pochettino will now prepare Chelsea to face West Ham this weekend, before travelling to face Nottingham Forest a week later. That will be followed by the rearranged fixture against Brighton, before the Blues host Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge in the final league fixture of the season.
