Ben Doak reflects on his career choices after move from Liverpool to Middlesbrough
MIDDLESBROUGH winger Ben Doak thinks he is in the best possible place for his career development.
Doak turned down a number of alternative offers in order to sign a season-long loan at the Riverside when he agreed to leave Liverpool in the summer.
The 19-year-old has settled in well on Teesside, scoring a goal and claiming five assists in just over two months as a Boro player.
Doak will be back in action when the Teessiders head to Elland Road to take on Leeds United tomorrow night, and is delighted with the way in which his move to the North-East is working out.
When asked Boro is the best place for him at the moment, the Scotland international said: “Yeah, without a doubt. I think we play some of the best football in the league and I think a lot of that comes down the right-hand side.

“I think it suits me really well, and I’ve got a great group of lads around me - a lot of talented footballers.”
In his post-match interview on Sky Sports in the wake of last Friday’s 1-1 draw at Burnley, Doak was asked whether his footballing style was akin to playing in the school playground.
He replied: “I don’t really see it as trying to make it a playground, I think it’s just what I’ve been good at since I was young.
“I just play to my strengths and, hopefully, I play well while doing that.”
