Chris Davies has made two changes to his Birmingham City team for tonight’s League One clash with Exeter City.

Blues are playing at St James Park for the first time since 1999 – and looking for a first win in four league matches after draws with Mansfield and Northampton and Saturday’s upset at Shrewsbury.

To that end he has handed Alfie May a recall after he dropped to the bench at the Croud Meadow. Ben Davies is also back in the side in what looks like a reshuffled defence, with Ethan Laird dropping out.

That hints at either a change to a back three – which Blues haven’t used all season – or a role for one of the more established central defenders, Christoph Klarer or Krystian Bielik at right back. Alex Cochrane will continue on the left.

Paik Seung-ho and Tomoki Iwata remain in the middle of the park, with Willum Willumsson, Keshi Anderson, May and Jay Stansfield in the attacking positions. Luke Harris drops out of the starting XI.

Blues: Allsop; Klarer, Bielik, Davies, Cochrane; Iwata, Paik Seung-ho; Anderson, Willumsson, May; Stansfield. Subs: Peacock-Farrell, Laird, Leonard, Dykes, Gardner-Hickman, Harris, Yokoyama
