Carlisle United are 11/4 to give their League Two prospects a much-needed shot in the arm with victory at Salford City.

Those odds are offered by BetFred as the Blues go in search of a first win in eight league games.

Mike Williamson's second-bottom Blues are 13/5 for victory with 888Sport and 5/2 with Bet365.

Karl Robinson's Salford, who are 12th in the table, are odds-on to claim a home victory at the Peninsula Stadium in today's early kick-off.

The Ammies are 19/20 for the win with SkyBet and UniBet.

Salford are Evens to win with BetVictor and 21/20 with Betfair.

The draw is 13/5.

Carlisle's last trip to Salford's ground saw a memorable 4-1 win in November 2022.

A repeat of that result today is 80/1.

A more modest 1-0 away win is priced 11/1 with a 2-1 Carlisle victory having the same odds.

Salford are 7/1 for a 1-0 win, 9/1 to win 2-0 and 18/1 for a 3-0 win over the Cumbrians.

Another 0-0 draw for United is priced 11/1, with a 1-1 draw 6/1.

Cole Stockton, Salford's former Carlisle striker, is the bookies' favourite to get the first goal this afternoon.

The 30-year-old, who was with the Blues in the second half of the 2017/18 campaign, is 6/1 to open the scoring against his former club.

Kylian Kouassi, a past scorer against United with former club Sutton United, is 13/2, with Matty Lund 11/1.

Carlisle striker Luke Armstrong takes on his former club today and the ex-Ammies forward, who played for Salford from 2019 to 2021, is 8/1 for the opening goal.

Jon Mellish and Tyler Burey are both 14/1 with Harrison Biggins 16/1, Taylor Charters and Callum Guy - a scorer in that 4-1 win - also 22/1.

Longer shots for the opener include Cameron Harper at 33/1 and Terell Thomas at 50/1 in the United ranks, and Liam Shephard at 40/1 for the hosts.

Plenty of attention will be on Williamson's selection in goal today, with Gabe Breeze hoping to keep his place ahead of Harry Lewis.

Whoever gets the nod, the price for a Blues clean sheet is 10/3, with Salford's Jamie Jones 9/5 for a shut-out against the Cumbrians.
