Borna Barisic 'REJECTS' Rangers transfer exit offer as alternative path ignored

Borna Barisic has REJECTED a late Dinamo Zagreb offer to take him back to Croatia, according to a report in Turkey.

The left-back is poised to leave Rangers this summer and looks set to join Turkish side Trabzonspor on a free transfer with various reports suggesting a deal is done, while teammate John Lundstram could be joining him. Barisic has found himself out of the Gers team for most of this season with Ridvan Yilmaz displacing him.

But with a Trabzon deal looking very possible, the Croats made a last-ditch attempt to lure him back to his homeland. Turkish outlet Express claim Dinamo had a nibble but the 31-year-old has knocked them back in favour of a lucrative contract in Turkey. Barisic had a season at Dinamo earlier in his career but only made one appearance before going to Osijek which was where Steven Gerrard plucked him from.

The defender was recently involved in an altercation with a Rangers fan as tempers flared while he signed autographs. The 31-year-old was filmed exchanging words with the fan in the crowd before appearing to raise his arm and lunge towards the fan.

Barisic has over 200 appearances for the Ibrox men over his six seasons and three trophies - one Premiership, one Scottish Cup and one League Cup.
