Bournemouth vs Liverpool LIVE! Carabao Cup result, match stream and latest updates today
A brilliant goal from the in-form Darwin Nunez saw Liverpool edge past Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium and into the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday night.
Both managers made a raft of changes from their usual Premier League set-ups, which duly led to a reasonably disjointed game in the opening stages. Cody Gakpo, however, was able to open the scoring just after the half hour mark after tapping in following Harvey Elliott's saved shot.
The Cherries, however, roared back. After the break, the played with much more intensity and were unlucky not to have levelled the scoring before Justin Kluivert resorted parity with just over an hour gone.
Still, it would be Nunez who would have the last laugh. Improving all the time this season and finding his feet with seemingly every passing game, the striker unleashed a powerful strike with around eleven minutes to go to ensure Liverpool would reach the final eight once more.

Bournemouth vs Liverpool: Saudi spending spree sees fan engagement in Pro League surge
17:45 , Jonathan Gorrie
Following the recent closure of the Saudi Arabian summer transfer window, which saw an eyewatering £784.2 million worth of players make the switch to the Middle East, new data from world-leading real-time sports update provider, LiveScore, has revealed a colossal upsurge in football fans’ interest in the Saudi Pro League.
Data from LiveScore’s hero app, which collates instant in-game news and currently has more than 50 million monthly users, shows a staggering 4,303% growth of fans interacting with the Saudi Pro League over the last 12 months. LiveScore’s Saudi Pro League Competition page saw 11,201 engagements in August 2022, compared to 1,181,442 in the month of September 2023.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al Nassr FC opened the floodgates for some of football’s biggest names to follow in his footsteps, and the Portuguese star’s impact on his club’s growth is evident with Al Nassr’s Team page visits rocketing from 576 in August 2022, to 942,713just one year later. Sitting below Al Nassr in global Team page visits is Al Hilal – who signed the likes of Neymar, Rúben Neves and Aleksander Mitrovic this summer – with 669,328 visits in August 2023. Al-Ettifaq – who are managed by Steven Gerrard and whose squad includes former Liverpool players Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum – received 544,063 page visits in the same period.
With some of Europe’s best players making the move to the Middle East, the Saudi Pro League has now leapfrogged France’s Ligue 1 as the third-highest league in the world when it comes to Fan Engagements (1,181,442 to Ligue 1’s 983,193).
The spike in Saudi interest significantly outweighs that of the MLS, despite Ronaldo’s adversary Lionel Messi joining David Beckham’s Inter Miami in July. The MLS saw 537,410 Competition page views in the month of August 2023, equating to just 30% of that of the Saudi Pro League, with Ronaldo and co drawing far greater attention than Messi when it comes to interest in each respective league. However, LiveScore’s Player page feature shows that Messi is still eclipsing Ronaldo on an individual player basis with 26,292 views in August 2023, compared to Ronaldo’s 17,648.

Instead, Sky will be showing both West Ham vs Arsenal (7:30pm GMT) as Declan Rice pays a first visit back to his former club and also Manchester United vs Newcastle (8:15pm), which is an intriguing rematch of last seasons's Wembley final.
The only television coverage in the UK will be highlights, the rights of which belong to ITV. This week their programme begins at 11:30pm on ITV4 on Wednesday night.
