Brendan Rodgers has provided an update on four key Celtic players - including 'good news' over Callum McGregor.

The influential Hoops skipper missed the convincing 3-0 win over Motherwell and could well be back for the midweek battle with Dundee under the lights at Parkhead. Should he not play a part in that game, then his boss expects him to be back and raring to go for the Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Aberdeen at Hampden.

Adam Idah's involvement over the next week is yet to be determined with the striker still currently in a boot. Rodgers revealed that one is more a 'wait and see' job - but he remains hopeful his big money summer signing got away with anything too serious. He also delivered updates on Cameron Carter-Vickers and Greg Taylor as part of an injury round-up. The key centre-back returned for much needed match minutes at Fir Park while his fellow defender was an unused sub.

Providing an update on the key men to Celtic TV, Rodgers said: "We obviously got through the game yesterday with a really good performance and result. We are obviously analysing and looking at one or two of the guys that had some knocks.

"Callum [McGregor], we are just waiting to hear back. But we think that is good news with him. Adam Idah was on the end of a poor challenge. We just have to wait and see. He's still got his foot in a boot at the moment but we are hoping he has got away with that.

"Cameron Carter-Vickers came in and got some game time which was good for him. He needs to build up that match fitness and obviously Greg Taylor was on the bench. Didn't feature but it makes hopefully a lot of them available for Wednesday and we will see about one or two others."

He continued: "I think for the likes of Cam. Some of the injuries he's had it isn't muscle injuries, it is just innocuous ones that have been in his foot and been an issue for him. For Callum, the wear and tear of playing so many games. It won't do him any harm to miss out a game. He is so consistent and such a committed player.

"You know if there is a niggle with him it really has to be something that is quite sore for him not to be involved. But we are hopeful it is just a case of that fatigue of putting so much in.

"I think you seen his numbers that he has covered the most ground of any player in the Champions League. It tells you how much work he is putting in. We are hopeful he can be involved in some part Wednesday but if not definitely Saturday."
