Liverpool have been handed a sizable Premier League title boost after Manchester City were beaten 2-1 at Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday evening. After Erling Haaland opened the scoring for the visitors, the Seagulls fired back with an impressive second-half display.

Joao Pedro levelled before Matt O'Reilly scored the winning goal on his Premier League debut.

It means Arne Slot's Reds now have a chance to go five points clear of City at the top of the table when they host Aston Villa at Anfield at 8pm.

Darwin Nunez and Andy Robertson come into the side for that game as Slot makes two changes from the side that beat Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
