Bristol Bears beat Glasgow Warriors to secure three-year deal for international fly-half
Bristol Bears have prised new Scotland international fly-half Tom Jordan away from Glasgow Warriors despite fierce competition from the United Rugby Championship side to keep him at Scotstoun .
Multiple sources are reporting that Bristol Bears have completed a deal worth around £300,000 a season to sign New Zealand-born Jordan on a three-year deal ahead of the 2025/26 season. The Bears have been well known to be on the hunt for a new top-end fly-half with their current starter AJ MacGinty turning 35 this season, and having narrowly missed out on landing England and Harlequins star Marcus Smith.

Jordan, who earned his first two caps for Scotland this Autumn after recently qualifying for selection through residency, has become a key figure for Glasgow since joining the club in 2021 from Super6 side the Ayrshire Bulls. Last season he played in every league game as the Warriors upset to the odds to be crowned URC champions in 2023/24 after a 21-16 win against the Blue Bulls in the final away in Pretoria.
Glasgow were reportedly very keen to keep hold of the 26-year-old who has been going head-to-head with fellow Scottish international Adam Hastings for the number 10 jersey at Warriors this season, leading to him playing a number of games at inside centre.
Scottish rugby specialist website The Offside Line quotes an unnamed source from within the Glasgow camp as saying: “We tried very hard to keep Tom. We were very interested in holding on to him given his contribution since he joined us. But he has now told us that he has agreed to join Bristol in the summer.”
Jordan won his first cap for Scotland in the win against Fiji at Murrayfield two weeks ago, coming off the replacements bench for Hastings. He then started in the unfamiliar position of full-back in Sunday’s defeat to South Africa in a display of his versatility.
Neither club is yet to comment on the move.
