Brook Hill Baseball wins district crown with 1-0 victory over Dallas Christian

Apr. 19—BULLARD — Blake Whitten's dominating pitching performance helped Brook Hill capture a 1-0 triumph over Dallas Christian, which also earned the Guard the district championship Friday night in Bullard.

Whitten was credited with a complete game win. He allowed only one hit while striking out five Chargers and walking two.

The lone run of the night was scored in the home half of the first segment.

Cooper Schock drew a one-out base on balls and was quickly moved over to third base following a Samuel Williams single to centerfield.

Schock was able to score when Lex Rich lofted a sacrifice fly to left.

The remainder of the game boiled down to a pitcher's duel, with Whitten excelling on the mound.

Brook Hill, who had four hits in the affair, will take a 17-4, 10-2 record into the playoffs, while Dallas Christian now stands 11-13, 9-3 and will represent the district as its runner-up.
