Bruno Fernandes' Man United gesture speaks volumes ahead of Ruben Amorim debut
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes returned to training on Tuesday ahead of Ruben Amorim's debut this weekend at Ipswich Town.
Fernandes was called up to the Portugal squad for their Nations League fixtures against Poland and Croatia. However, after scoring in a 5-1 win over their first opponents of the November break, Portugal's head coach Roberto Martinez gave permission for the midfielder to return to Manchester for Amorim's first training session.
After watching the clash with Croatia on television, Fernandes returned to Carrington on Tuesday where he held a meeting with his new manager. Once pleasantries had been exchanged and discussions about United had been completed, the 30-year-old jumped straight back into training alongside a selection of first-team talent - including Amad and Mason Mount - and academy stars.

Since being announced as the new boss, Amorim has received praise from Fernandes who is keen to work with the man who helped rebuild his beloved Sporting Lisbon. Speaking recently about the new head coach, the 30-year-old said: "I've seen many, many moments where players were struggling and he kept his faith in them.
"He always goes to the press conference and always defends their players and always kept them on under himself to give them the best opportunity to shine. He had a really youthful team so they needed that and hopefully when he comes here, he can do the same again with the youth.
"Us players with the most experience, we have to help him to get that and get the best out of every player at this club." First up for United's new regime is a trip to Ipswich Town on Sunday evening.
