Bruno Fernandes has mirrored the mood of every Manchester United fan in responding to Leny Yoro’s return to group training.

The summer signing has yet to make his competitive debut for the club after fracturing his metatarsal in pre-season. Yoro is not expected to be in the squad for Thursday’s Europa League tie with PAOK and it is unclear whether he will be ready in time for Sunday’s clash with Leicester City.

If he indeed misses both matches then he will be handed his official maiden outing for United by incoming manager Ruben Amorim, despite being Erik ten Hag’s first recruit of the summer. Amorim starts his tenure on November 11, during the upcoming international break.

Ruud van Nistelrooy is unbeaten in both of his games as interim boss, having beaten Leicester in last week’s Carabao Cup tie before Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea, and has now overseen Yoro reintegration back into squad training.

Yoro subsequently posted images of himself partaking in the session on social media, with the youngster - who turns 19 next week - seen in high spirits as teammates welcomed him back into the fray. He posted the caption: “New start.”

Captain Fernandes reacted to the post within the hour, posting a loveheart eyes emoji. Former Lille teammate Angel Gomes - once again selected in Lee Carsley’s England squad for this month’s fixtures - also congratulated Yoro, commenting: “He’s back!!!”

Former United skipper Rio Ferdinand, 46, posted a fire emoji to join scores of supporters in sending their best wishes to Yoro. United paid £52million for the teenager, who had gained interest from Real Madrid and Liverpool.
