Bucs DT Vita Vea, at 347 pounds, drops into coverage and forces an Aaron Jones fumble

Whatever caused Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles to decide to drop defensive lineman Vita Vea in coverage, it worked out perfectly.

Vea is 347 pounds but an athletic freak. He's one of the best interior defenders in the NFL. He usually doesn't do his best work dropping back into a zone coverage against Aaron Rodgers.

The Buccaneers were trying to throw off Rodgers when Vea dropped, and it turned out well. Aaron Jones caught a short pass and probably wasn't anticipating Vea being at the goal line to hit him. Vea hit Jones, who lost a fumble.

Vea has been a very good player since the Buccaneers in the 2018 draft. Nowhere on his predraft scouting report did it talk about his ability to drop in coverage.
