Bulls star Zach LaVine linked to 76ers in wake of James Harden trade

According to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine is one of two names linked to the Philadelphia 76ers in trade talks following the blockbuster move that sent James Harden to the LA Clippers. The other player is Toronto Raptors forward OG Anunoby.

Mannix noted that “LaVine is the kind of scorer/ball handler the Sixers could use” in his tweet. Chicago’s rocky start to the season could lead to them exploring options by the trade deadline, and now that Harden is out of Philadelphia, adding another star to the mix could be an option they seriously consider.

With Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Tobias Harris already in place, LaVine would be a solid fit as a top scoring option for the 76ers.

What a Zach LaVine-Philadelphia 76ers trade would look like for Chicago Bulls

The 76ers got a ton of big contracts in exchange for Harden from the Clippers, receiving Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, Nicolas Batum, and Kenyon Martin Jr.

None of those players would be of particular interest to the Bulls, but should Chicago decide to tear things down and rebuild, the 76ers could easily send enough matching salary to trade for LaVine.

In all likelihood, a trade would consist of Morris, Covington, Batum, and draft capital heading to Chicago, and LaVine joining the 76ers.
