Callum McGregor goads Rangers' Tom Lawrence in unseen 'new hardman' roast as Celtic star mocks foe

Callum McGregor went to the Scott Brown school of wind-ups as was proven yet again in Celtic's 2-1 win over Rangers last weekend.

The Hoops captain took less than two minutes in the action to troll midfield opponent Tom Lawrence after he was fouled in the middle of the pitch as the Ibrox star looked to attempt to assert dominance. As it happened it was one of McGregor's best games of the season as his side went six points clear at the top of the table with just two games to go.

After Lawrence tripped him with a late challenge, the 31-year-old jumped to his feet and, with a smile on his face, appeared to be caught on Sky Sports' cameras goading the Welshman.

He appeared to say: "Is that you the new hard man now, aye?"

It's not the first time McGregor has recently mocked Gers' players as his row on the pitch during their recent 3-3 draw with Todd Cantwell caused a mini skirmish at full-time after the ex-Norwich man reacted with a shove.

He also branded Borna Barisic a "s***bag" for refusing to take him on in another game at Parkhead last season.
