Callum McGregor makes Celtic feelings loud and clear as Euro form helps Scottish game shine in positive light
Callum McGregor has urged Celtic to keep surging and finish-off the Champions League job.
The Parkhead side are flying in the section with their stunning win over RB Leipzig moving them onto seven points at the halfway mark. Brendan Rodgers’ team are now firmly in position to progress to the play-offs. McGregor lapped up the display and success against the Bundesliga side, but is adamant Celtic must keep pushing to really make it count.
The skipper wants to press home the current situation and said: “Yeah well that’s it. Even at half time [against Leipzig], you think you’re 2-1 up, let’s finish the job. You don’t want to be a nearly team that play well and don’t get anything from it. So now we’ve set ourselves up really well in the first four games. Now the chance for us is to try and qualify and can we finish as high up as that table allows us. We know it’s going to be a big challenge and we have to keep working, but there’s no reason why we can’t.”

Following a draw against Serie A big guns Atalanta, Celtic stepped-up again to dominate a side who are sitting second just behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. “You see a lot of teams around Europe, you know, when we get to this point, more often than not they’re looking for the negative story and now it’s, hopefully, a positive one, especially the last two games.
“But it’s up to us now to try and finish that job and try and shine Scottish football in the best light possible.”
