Carlisle United have announced the signing Kadeem Harris - and he can play today.

The Blues have confirmed a short-term deal for the former Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City man.

United had been awaiting international clearance for the 31-year-old after agreeing terms with the player.

They have now confirmed that everything is in place and Harris is now a United player - and eligible to make his debut against Salford City this afternoon.

Mike Williamson, the head coach, welcomed the signing when speaking on the club website.

"He brings experience and quality to the group," said the Blues boss.

"Giving us that pace and explosive power we’re after, capable of hurting teams.

"We're really pleased to have him on board."

Harris, who can operate in attacking midfield or wing-back, has been training with United as a free agent in recent weeks.

A deal was agreed with the experienced player a week ago, with Williamson saying on Wednesday that United were still awaiting international clearance, following Harris's recent spell in Turkey with Sanliurfaspor.

His arrival on a deal until January is now confirmed, as Harris - who came through the ranks at Wycombe Wanderers during Williamson's playing spell with the Chairboys - becomes the second signing made by the Blues head coach, following Tyler Burey's recent signing.
