Carolina Panthers at Chicago Bears: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 10 game

Two NFL cellar dwellers will meet in hopes of finding some optimism this season when the Carolina Panthers (1-7) take on the Chicago Bears (2-7).

After getting their first win in Week 8, the Panthers fell back down to Earth in Week 9 after they were soundly beaten by the Indianapolis Colts. Bryce Young had a day to forget, throwing two pick-6s to Kenny Moore in plays that turned out to be the difference in the game.

It was a dream debut for undrafted rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent, but since then, Chicago's offense hasn't been able to do much, especially with a turnover barrage in a loss to New Orleans. Justin Fields may be able to return, so can he salvage what has been another forgetful season for the Bears?

Lorenzo Reyes: Bears 21, Panthers 14

This result all depends on Justin Fields returning to action. If he’s unable to go, I’ll probably have the Panthers covering, though not winning straight up. Either way, I think it makes the most sense to wait until closer to kickoff.

Tyler Dragon: Bears 20, Panthers 18

Justin Fields (right thumb) could be back this week after missing the previous three games. His return could be a big boon for a Chicago offense in need of a spark. DJ Moore is going to be motivated to play his former team no matter who is throwing him the football. The Panthers have a difficult time protecting rookie QB Bryce Young.

Safid Deen: Bears 24, Panthers 17

The Bears have a lot more to address than rookie Tyson Bagent starting in place of Justin Fields, who could use another week to recover from his dislocated thumb on his throwing hand. But home field on a short week should be enough to help Chicago beat Carolina, whose rebuild isn’t going so well for No. 1 pick Bryce Young or coach Frank Reich in their first season together

Victoria Hernandez: Bears 21, Panthers 17

The Bears are returning home after two tough road losses. If Justin Fields is back, that should give them a boost of confidence as well. Even if he isn’t, Bryce Young showed last week that he’s still learning to be an NFL-caliber decision-maker by throwing three picks.

Jordan Mendoza: Bears 22, Panthers 17

This game will be ugly, and it's a great candidate to hit the under. Chicago has proven when it doesn't make mistakes, it has a pretty functional offense. Against a Carolina team that ranks last in points given up per game, expect the Bears to have one of their better games in a home victory.
