Caught on camera: a pops' passion for his college basketball team
Seventy-six-year-old Austin Gavin graduated from the University of Memphis way back in 1971. But his passion for his alma mater's basketball team has never left him. And when the Tigers took on the mighty Clemson, Gavin's enthusiasm knew no bounds.
Watching on his big screen TV in Stony Brook, New York, the veteran superfan was caught on camera by his daughter, Lexy Gavin-Mather, while he lived every moment of the tense encounter.
In an NCAA classic, Gavin was on the edge of his seat and frequently off it as the Memphis Tigers claimed a narrow 79-77 win.
