Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts and Rangers split the jury as four burning questions receive no unanimous verdicts
Will Celtic get a positive result against RB Leipzig?
ANDY NEWPORT: Marry the lethal attacking edge they demonstrated on Saturday with their stout defensive performance in Atlanta and they can definitely pick up another home win.
FRASER WILSON : A draw would be positive and I can see Celtic doing enough to get another very useful point. The Bundesliga side are a huge test and Celtic will need to be pretty much flawless defensively like they were against Atalanta. But with the Parkhead atmosphere driving them on they can cause the Germans problems.
KEITH JACKSON: After picking up a point in Bergamo last time out, another draw would be more than enough to keep Celtic on course for the play-offs. And, yes, they are more than capable of achieving it.
SCOTT BURNS/McDERMOTT: They are certainly in a good place. I think in front of a packed out Celtic Park they will always have a chance. Leipzig are a step up again but I think they can get a point.
Do you think Rangers will get the better of Olympiacos in Greece?
ANDY: The Greeks have had a similarly stuttering start to Gers domestically yet still sit top of the Super League. They have an identical Euro record too having also lost to Lyon and beat Malmo away. But I reckon the red hot atmosphere in Athens will give the hosts the edge.
FRASER: Stranger things have happened. But nothing Rangers are producing away from home domestically suggests they can go to Greece and get a win. They’ll need big character to step up and that’s been sadly lacking.
KEITH: No. It could be another long night in Athens for a side which seems incapable of protecting itself on its travels even on home soil.
SCOTT: It will be a hard one against a Greek side who are going well. Rangers are capable of going there and getting a result but I think Olympiacos will just edge it.
Are Hearts going to beat Heidenheim and get a third straight Euro win?
ANDY: The Germans aren’t great shakes by Bundesliga standards but Hearts are still trying to find their feet under Neil Critchley and facing a side from one of Europe’s big five leagues is likely to come too soon for the Jambos.
FRASER: Heidenheim are a bit of an unknown quantity but there’s no doubt it’ll be the Jambos’ toughest test yet. They were magnificent against Omonia at Tynecastle two weeks ago but it will take an even bigger performance against the Bundesliga side. Defensively they still look weak and this could be their first bump on the Euro road.
KEITH: It’ll be a test against the Bundesliga outfit but Hearts at home are a tough nut to crack. Fingers crossed a win or a draw is on the cards.
SCOTT: Heidenheim are not in great form. If Hearts could take anything it would be a bonus but the Germans would still be big favourites.
Will Aberdeen recover immediately from their Hampden nightmare?
ANDY : It’s a huge test for Jimmy Thelin’s team. The Dons have been dazzling this season but Saturday was a huge confidence crushed and it will be intriguing to see how they react.
FRASER: They need to forget it and move on. Saturday was a collective disaster from every player in red. But the Dons have been so strong in the league I thoroughly expect them to bounce back with a win at home to Dundee. They’ll have gone over Saturday already and now it’s time to consign it to the bin.
KEITH: Yes. Dundee have got the short straw being the next side to visit Pittodrie. They are likely to face a backlash from a team which will have been licking its wounds since Saturday’s thumping.
SCOTT: The semi was a sore but they still return to the Premiership unbeaten. Jimmy Thelin will get his team going again and I would expect them to win at Dundee again - albeit they were pushed all the way last time.
