Amy Gallacher fired Celtic to their first-ever SWPL title after netting a dramatic last-minute winner to break Rangers' hearts.

The Hoops kicked off the afternoon top of the table on goal difference, knowing all they had to do was beat Hibs at Parkhead to get their hands on their maiden SWPL championship. But a nervy performance Elena Sadiku's side almost saw them suffer final day agony for the second successive year as Rangers got the job done at home to Partick Thistle.

Jo Potter's team had to beat the Jags and hope that their Old Firm rivals slipped up just 15 miles down the road - and that's almost what happened as the Ibrox Women came within minutes of pulling off a sensational title triumph.

Gers piled the pressure on Celtic by storming into a 3-0 lead at half-time thanks to a brace from Kirsty Howat and a stunning strike from Tessel Middag. Olivia McLoughlin added a fourth in the second-half as Gers sent a clear message to the other side of the city.

The scoreline created a tense atmosphere at Celtic Park as Hibs continued to frustrate the hosts. Celtic huffed and puffed and eventually gave the 7,624 crowd who turned out something to celebrate as Gallacher smashed in her 50th goal of the season to win the title in the dying minutes - sparking wild celebrations at full-time.
