Celtic fans unveil incredible Tommy Burns tifo before Kilmarnock clash with 'playing for a cause' banner
Celtic fans have unveiled an incredible tifo for club legend Tommy Burns on the anniversary of his passing.
The former Hoops and Kilmarnock player and manager was remembered by fans in the away section of this evening's game between the two teams at Rugby Park. A huge picture of the icon was flanked by green and white and a caption accompanied it with words from the loveable Scot himself.
It read: "You're Playing for a People and a Cause". Burns played for Celts back between 1971-1989 and wrote himself into the history books with his 12 trophies from his time as a player.
That would then see him move on to Killie for a five-year stint before he would retire in 1994 after working as a player/manager in Ayrshire.
He'd make his dream managerial switch back to Parkhead where he led the club to the Scottish Cup in 1995 before he'd leave in 1997.
There was an outpouring of love for the legendary figure when he passed away in 2008, at the age of 51.
