Celtic or Rangers projected Champions League pots revealed as brutal ties lie in wait for Premiership winners
Celtic and Rangers have discovered the projected Champions League pots for the group stages of the competition.
The Glasgow giants continue to battle it out to lift this season's Premiership title with the Hoops leading by three points as the competition closes in on its dramatic climax. Whichever club wins the trophy will have a guaranteed spot in next term's Champions League proper with the new format debuting and more clubs involved with more prize money on offer.
The Scots champions will be drawn to play two teams from each pot. One of those fixtures will be at home and the other away. That means, unlike the current format, with Celtic or Rangers in pot three they WILL face two other clubs from that pot.
According to the data compiled by Football Rankings on X, there are big-hitters in all pots, as expected. Celtic or Rangers - presuming coefficient would be the same regardless of who wins the title - are projected to be in pot three alongside Feyenoord, Sporting CP, PSV, Dinamo Zagreb, Lille, Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Bodo/Glimt.
Pot one includes the world-beaters and reigning champions while pot two boasts the clubs slightly further down from the top dogs in the coefficient.
Pot four includes the likes of Aston Villa and Lewis Ferguson's Bologna at this moment who are, again, slightly further down in coefficient points than Celtic at this moment in time.
