If ever Rangers needed a win on derby day, it's this weekend.

Philippe Clement is yet to taste victory in the Old Firm clash and Saturday's match with Celtic at Parkhead is likely to be one of the toughest fixtures of the Belgian's career given what's at stake. A win for the Light Blues on their rivals' patch - in front of 60,000 expectant home fans - would not only be vital for their chances in the title race but would bring a fresh sense of satisfaction to silence the crowd.

For Brendan Rodgers, meanwhile, the clash is his opportunity to silence any naysayers and essentially clinch the trophy with just the mathematics to come. Six points and a superior goal difference would be the separation and with just two games to come after that, it would take an almighty swing for the Hoops to surrender the silverware.

Football Scotland's writers have attempted to predict the scoreline from the 12.30pm kick-off in Glasgow in Gers' do-or-die.

Ryan McDonald

It's do-or-die for Rangers on Saturday. Win, and the title - and Treble - could be theirs. Lose, and it's another season in Celtic's shadow. It's really that simple. Even if Philippe Clement emerge with a point, it would take a monumental collapse from Celts to somehow hand their rivals the Premiership crown.

Given the fact Gers have yet to get the better of Brendan Rodgers this season, the odds are stacked against them getting a priceless three points in front of 60,000 Celtic fans at Parkhead.

With so much at stake for both teams, I'm expecting goals galore in Glasgow's east end - and maybe even a red card or two. It could be a frantic afternoon for Willie Collum and VAR Steven McLean but let's hope the headlines are about another derby classic rather than refereeing controversy. I'm tipping Celtic to just edge it.

Prediction: Celtic 3-2 Rangers

Mark Hendry

This one is a monumentally huge game in terms of this season's title race and Celtic have everything in their favour. Brendan Rodgers knows how to win these clashes at the best of times and they're in front of a sea of green and white with no away punters in the door. Rangers will do well to settle the game early but I just can't see that happening.

I imagine the Hoops will come out the traps at 100 mph and I can honestly see a similar 90 minutes to that of the evening back in February 2022 when Reo Hatate bagged a brace and Celts blew their rivals away. Sorry, Rangers fans but your boys are up against it and I can see a comfortable home victory.

Prediction: Celtic 4-1 Rangers

Blair Meikle

For the last Old Firm derby, there was a hint that there was a big chance of Rangers getting a vital win. That didn't happen and this time it feels like they don't have anywhere near as much chance.

They've not managed a victory in the fixture all season despite the Hoops not having been at their best during the campaign. Brendan Rodgers' side are now in their stride at a vital time and looking good.

I expect Celtic to dominate the game at home in front of their own crowd and they have the players in Matt O'Riley, Reo Hatate and Kyogo to come up with the moments that matter and make that dominance count. A big performance and result to all but deliver the title.

Prediction: Celtic 3-1 Rangers
