Celtic stand 90 minutes from extinguishing 86 years of Rangers bragging rights and binning a famous battle cry
Next month's mouthwatering Old Firm Premier Sports Cup final will have added spice and significance as whoever emerges triumphant at Hampden will be able to claim the most ALL-time trophies.
Celtic and Rangers battled through their semi-finals against Aberdeen and Motherwell to lock horns at Hampden again. And remarkably, there is nothing to separate the two clubs in their all-time trophy haul - in 136 years of the clubs being rivals. And if the Hoops lift the trophy then their major trophy count will be greater than their rivals for the first time in 86 years.
Celtic have won 54 league titles, 42 Scottish Cups, 21 League Cups and famously, a European Cup in 1967. Rangers have won 55 top-flight titles, 34 Scottish Cups, 28 League Cups and the 1972 European Cup-Winners Cup. However, Rangers' first-ever Scottish title was shared with Dumbarton in 1891 and they were formed 16 years before the Hoops, although they didn't win any trophies in that spell.
